David Czupryn

David Czupryn was born in Duisburg, Germany in 1983. He currently lives and works in Düsseldorf. Czupryn graduated from the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie in 2015 (2007 – 2015) where he obtained a BFA under Georg Herold (2011), a Meisterbrief under Lucy McKenzie (2011-2013), and an MFA under Tomma Abts (2015). David Czupryn’s work is informed by an exploration of the uncanny and the clash between natural and man-made materials. In his practice, painting, through trompe l'oeil techniques, becomes a way to push the boundaries of representation and human perception.
